The National Screen Evaluation Facility Test results are in

We are proud to announce that the FINEGUARDTM achieved the best capture ratio for a 3mm Finescreen at the National screening equipment test facility.

FINEGUARDTM was tested at the National Screen Evaluation Facility, Chester-le-Street STW, Co Durham during October 2017. Two variations of the screen were tested being:

  • with screen curtain aperture sizes of 3 mm dia, and
  • with screen curtain aperture sizes of 6 mm dia

A total of 12 SCR (Screenings Capture Ratio) tests were conducted on each screen variant, comprising six ‘ON’ tests and six ‘OFF’ tests.

  • The average SCR for the screen with 3 mm dia apertures was found to be 89%
  • The average SCR for the screen with 6 mm dia apertures was found to be 81%

These results compare favourably to similar Finescreens previously tested at the NSEF. Both screen variants appeared to remove all gross solids (ie. solids greater than 6 mm in any two dimensions) from the flow. The pattern of the SCR / Flow Graphs indicate that the trend was for the SCR to reduce slightly with increasing flow for the 3 mm version, but remain relatively constant as flow increases for the 6 mm version. The pattern of the Headloss/Flow Graph indicates that headloss increases with flow for both screen variants, as could be expected.
