SPIRAC Prefabricated Inlet Works including a stormwater overflow section

The Prefabricated Inlet Works Plant was designed such that it can be supported on galvanised steel support beams above ground level, to enable flows to gravitate through downstream process units.

These impressive CHAINGUARDTM screens are coarse screens with a total of approximately 11m length laid flat (10.6m installed height) and 2.2 m width.

They are designed for screening activities in deep channels and will be operated in conjunction with a SPIROWASH® Compact 280, which washes out the organic material and compacts screenings. Relentless efforts from our newly formed screen team, with more than 80 years’ screen experience between them has meant that after only six months and after completing a series of tests and inspections in SPIRAC’s screen workshop, FINEGUARDTM is now being tested at the National Screen Evaluation Facility (NSEF) at Chester le Street.

Prior to dispatching to the testing facility Yorkshire Water’s Chris Fell visited our Assembly facility in Sheffield to have a look at our innovations and he was very impressed with what he saw.
