Regional Sales Engineer

About the job
The successful applicant would be responsible for establishing new areas of the business whilst maintaining relationships with existing customers. They would be able to communicate with customers on a technical level whilst identifying products and systems to meet customer requirements. This position would be based from a home office with a requirement to visit the Banbury SPIRAC office regularly. The home office will be suitably equipped by SPIRAC with laptop/VPN access, telephone, printer, etc.
To be considered for this role, you will able to carry out the following duties:
- Providing sales and technical support to the existing client base and prospecting for new clients
- Understanding and interpreting client specifications to quote suitable equipment and systems
- Implementing sales plans and hitting sales targets
- Negotiating tender, contract terms and conditions
- Liaising with clients for quotation follow-up and feedback as well as other members of the sales team.
- Attending trade shows, conferences and marketing events.
- Scoping suitable equipment and systems by analyzing client specifications and tender documents by understanding flow rates, densities, dry solids content and material characteristic, etc.
- Ability to understand layout drawings and P & ID’s.
- Knowledge related to the supply and installation of equipment including spiral conveyors, compactors, and silo tanks in the water and wastewater industry experience would be desirable.
- An understanding of control systems and functional design with regards to start-up and shut down sequences, level control monitoring and failure modes, etc.
- Handing over tenders/enquiries in a detailed manner to enable the Proposal Engineer to cost and quote the project.
- Working as a team member within the Sales Department reporting any problems to the General Manager.
- Carrying out face-to-face sales handover procedure to Engineering department on receipt of order.
- This position would be based from a home office with a requirement to visit Banbury regularly or as and when required.
- Competent Microsoft Office/ Excel experience essential. Any experience with AutoCAD would be desirable.
- Any electrical engineering knowledge experience would be desirable but not essential
- Suitable training will be offered to the successful applicant
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Maintain a remote working environment that combines reliability, dependability and honesty with strong territory planning
- Demonstrate self-motivation, independence, effective decision making and efficient use of time with the ability to think on one’s feet
- HND or above in a relevant engineering subject. (Suitable vocational qualifications may be a suitable alternative)
- Have a full driving licence and a proven track record in sales with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
