SPIRAC was contracted to upgrade the Inlet Works Area for this project to allow for future population growth in the area. SPIRAC supplied and commissioned FINEGUARDTM, a travelling fine screen and SPIROWASH® a screen-specific washpactor.
The WWTP Inlet Works upgrade improved the screening capture at the head of the WWTP inlet works. SPIRAC supplied and commissioned FINEGUARDTM a travelling fine screen to replace the undersized step screen. SPIRAC also provided a SPIROWASH® unit, a screen-specific washpactor to dewater screenings and improve organics retention. FINEGUARDTM can handle a flow rate of 250 L/s. The screen is equipped with 5mm perforated panels that can achieve a Screen Capture Ratio (SCR) of 79%.
The SPIROWASH® volume reduction can range from 50 to 85% and moisture reduction can range from 35 to 50%. The DS content of the final screenings is approx. 35 to 45% DS
