History

Although the concept of shaftless spiral conveyors had existed for some time, it was SPIRAC that transformed the idea into a versatile solution used across a wide range of applications. 

By 1976, the first SPIRAC conveyors were installed in garbage disposal applications and sewage treatment plants. The technology quickly gained traction, and by 1984, over 600 installations had been completed across Scandinavia. Recognising the unique advantages of shaftless spiral conveyors early on, SPIRAC continued to innovate. In 1989, Mr. Joakim Ramen was appointed General Manager for the Australasia region, tasked with establishing SPIRAC as a leading wastewater solutions provider. In the early 1990s, Mr. Ramen became CEO of the SPIRAC Group, driving rapid growth through product diversification and global market expansion. Today, SPIRAC is a recognised global provider of wastewater treatment equipment.
