SPIRAC Australia recently completed the replacement of an aging step screen, providing the customer with a modern and reliable STEPGUARDTM screening solution designed to support long-term wastewater treatment operations.
The project was delivered by the SPIRAC Australian Service Team, who managed the removal of the existing equipment and installation of the new screen with minimal disruption to plant operations. The replacement screen was supplied fully assembled and prepared for rapid installation, helping to reduce downtime and streamline commissioning activities.
The new STEPGUARD® was selected to improve screening efficiency, reduce maintenance requirements, and enhance the overall reliability of the inlet works process. Featuring SPIRAC's robust design and proven screening technology, the unit provides effective removal of solids while maintaining consistent hydraulic performance.

Our technology for specialised screening, grit and sludge handling solutions was called for South East Water’s Boneo Wastewater Recycling Plant. We have manufacturing and technical support facilities in Australia, Europe and USA providing premium quality solids handling solutions for both municipal and industrial wastewater.
SPIRAC was contracted to upgrade the Inlet Works Area for this project to allow for future population growth in the area. SPIRAC supplied and commissioned FINEGUARDTM, a travelling fine screen and SPIROWASH® a screen-specific washpactor.
